The Masai Mara

Today we have reached the Masai Mara. This is probably my high point in the schedule and I have been looking forward to it. We had a long drive to get here from Lake Naivasha but it hasn't seemed so bad. A few stops on the way for toilets, curio shops and petrol; nothing too eventful with the stops. At about 12:30 we had dinner at Keekora Lodge, a hotel which we were due to pass. After this, the rest of the way to our hotel became an extensive game drive from 1:30pm through to 6pm when we arrived.

By far the most fun, this game drive got us extremely close to a couple of cheetahs, hyena, wildebeest and not so close to two male lions, a few jackals and some hippos. A thoroughly enjoyable trip. I'm particularly proud of spotting a serval cat and I think Becky is quite chuffed in pointing out the two Jackals. The cheetahs were amazing and made Isaac's day as they are his favourite and the hyenas were quite cool. I think we got some good photos today.

Our room this time overlooks the serenghetti plains of Tanzania and is very cave styled. Slightly flintstonesque. The local pests are horax, baboons and little gheckos. Looking forward to dinner as the last hotel's food was not up to scratch.
