Our Last Drive

Wildebeest meets Croc - The Great African Migration!

After the talk and dance was our final game drive. I was quite worried as my spare camera battery had failed me and with all my hopes of catching the last of the big five I didn't want to miss a photo if the chance came. So the number of photos on this drive was much smaller. Never the less, we did complete our sighting of the big five by catching glimpse of a leopard (The one everyone seemed to be waiting for).

After turning back for the hotel, a lead encouraged us to holdout and try once more. The leopard lounged lazily on top a termite mound by his beloved tree. It was quite amazing.

A bulky leopard, lays proud on a mound of earth looking away over the long African grass.
The long-awaited Leopard

On this drive, we also spotted a male lion in broad daylight, witnessed a second wildebeest crossing and saw a crocodile attack. Well, a few Crocodile attacks as one failed to bag a meal and an earlier group were fighting over one meagre wildebeest portion. A great drive to finish the experience.
