Our First Game Drive

Before our evening meal, Becky and I experienced our first game drive with Isaac.

We were even allowed to stand during the journey with our heads protruding through the open roof. Our vehicle, courtesy of Akorn Tours, isn't the most elegant, modern or even reliable set of wheels. We had to stop mid journey to refasten the spare wheel. Better him than me, the list of animals we could encounter was far too challenging for me to consider leaving the jeep. A Land Cruiser by name, it certainly doesn't feel like a cruise. Becky and I even began to question why all those tips we were given didn't include the suggestion of appropriately supportive underwear.

Our game drive was great for the first and we have been able to add to the 'spotted in the wild' list: Impala, Giselle, Warthog, Giraffe, Zebra and even Lion.

Alongside the less impressive birds: eagles and vultures. The Lionesses had to be the highlight for me. It is unbelievable how close they come and how unphased they are by the pursuing land cruisers.
