China Town
We took a walk into China Town this morning. A different story where the streets are close, cramped and crowded. Still a lot of poverty en route. It occurs to me how unusual we seem to the Philippine population. With our white skin and blonde hair the children are bemused and either shy away timidly or giggle whilst waving excitedly.
A group of children playing in a percussion group were promoting a sale in the mall. The children sweetly kept their eyes fixed on us smiling and waving at each opportunity. Many adults say hello and teenagers appear curious but there is an element of hesitation and possible cynicism by groups who are unfamiliar.

With no flash, some of the indoor photos are blurry
In our hotel elevator they constantly play a looped slideshow of the facilities to the soundtrack 'Hotel California' it gets a bit annoying. You can spend your evenings listening to some great groups in some nice clubs but you always return to the room whistling the same flipping song. It means that we have to take the dancing and drinks easy so that we have the energy and coordination to manage the stairs.
