We paid a visit to the National Coastwatch Station in Lee-on-the-Solent to learn what they do.
I enjoy climbing and regularly try to provide opportunities for our children to get on a wall, but why?
I have always found it a daunting prospect to organise my own trip on the water: where to launch from, how to assess the weather and tides etc.. When a friend offered me the use of his kayak, I had to come to terms with these challenges.
I have talked about going to America to work at summer camps as an older teenager or someone in their early twenties. But what opportunities are their in the UK for children to get a similar experience to that of the American child at summer camp?
My tent has to be one of my favourite possessions; a home I can collapse down and carry on my back, enough space for me and both children, dry, sheltered and cosy.
Whatever you are doing during the year, when summer comes… go to camp
One child picks up on something I said. Suddenly, I have the undivided attention of the whole class. This is my chance to impart something wise that will stick with them, something that they might remember, that might have a positive impact in their lives.
Music lessons and rehearsals have stopped for the summer, so I set Isaac this challenge… (tunes 1-14)
